The Doctoral Studies Programme aims at training professionals and teachers in the skills and competencies related to the systematic investigation of various issues and problems in the area of their study. The Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is the Research Degree of this University. Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) is established through Meghalaya State legislative Act, 2010 (Meghalaya Act No.6 of 2011), published in the Gazette of Meghalaya vide No.LL (B).
